Adventure 2498
I spent June 18-27 2022 in the pacific northwest.

First I stayed with John Dale and his family in Seattle.

Then Aunt Missy picked me up in Seattle to hang out in Gig Harbor for a couple days.

We ate food

and did activities outside. Summer here is beautiful.

Then I went back to Seattle and got on a 33 ft. sailboat with John Dale and his great-uncle Art.
You may know, but JD and I sunk the boat last time we sailed together - check this out.

Keep going to find out how we did this time.

This is a picture of Seattle as we motored away and headed to Port Townsend.

The schedule for the next couple days was: wake up early, motor/sail to somewhere new, explore, eat, go to sleep.

I made a flow diagram of John Dale's criteria for choosing a restaurant.

Sirens in Port Townsend had what we were looking for, thankfully.

Art's advice for people in their twenties is to trust your gut and to think about things with a positive mindset. He has no regrets.

On shore, after a full day of boat, it feels like the ground is swaying beneath you.

The currents in the channels between islands was so strong that we'd go less than 2 knots upstream and more than 8 knots downstream.

Today's adventure, number 2,498: Alex and JD hike all the trails on Sucia Island.

Our estimate is that we walked over 12 miles!

We jumped in the freezing cold water after hiking all day. Didn't last long in there - it was really cold.

On Sunday we headed back to civilization where JD's mom kindly picked us up.

This was a great experience, I can't wait until the next one.
